VMWare server is a free virtualization tool for Windows and Linux.
A beta version of VMWare Server 2 is now available and it brings the missing features from the latest versions of VMWare Fusion and VMWare Workstation :
- Support for Windows Server 2008
- Up to 8 Gb of RAM for per virtual guest
- Support for 2 CPUs per guest
- Up to 64 guests running at the same time (wow… if you can afford so much RAM, you can probably afford buying real machines…)
- 64-bits guests support
- Paravirtualization using the VMI interface. No need for any specific kernel like Xen, you just need a recent Linux kernel for this.
- Support for USB 2.0 devices.
